Thesis on decentralized exploration and growth in an initially unknown 3D environment — a search-and-coil algorithm with tip growth, lateral exploration, branching, collision avoidance, obstacle detection, and object wrapping, all over neighbor-to-neighbor message passing. Distributing growth across four roots cut elapsed simulation time by roughly 8x versus a single root.
